Raytheon Anschütz announces new Radar NX software

Dear Madams and Sirs,

Please find below our latest news: we are launching our new radar software called “Radar NX” at SMM in Hamburg.

Radar NX has been developed with the help of experienced marine radar users and user interface experts.

“NX” means ‘next generation’. With Radar NX we are completing the second of generation of the advanced, IMO-type approved Integrated Navigation System.

Radar NX takes into account the importance of human-centered design, in order to support navigators with intuitive to use applications and a clear display of the prevalent situation around the ship. Clear user interfaces and workflows support right decision making, reduce human error and thus increase safety in navigation. Supporting navigators and contributing to better safety is a key discriminator of the new NX generation.

Hopefully I will meet many of you during SMM at our booth 304 in Hall B6.

I am happy if you can make use of this news in your magazine or on your website.

Best wishes

Martin Richter

Raytheon Anschütz announces new Radar NX software

Raytheon Anschütz, a leading navigation company, announces a revolutionary new navigational radar and chart radar software. An intuitive user interface and a smart range of scalable functionality characterize the new Synapsis Radar NX application.

Raytheon Anschütz developed the Radar NX software in an agile development process leveraging the expertise of experienced marine radar users and the know-how of specialized user interface designers. With the new radar and chart radar application, Raytheon Anschütz completes the Synapsis NX series of innovative bridge navigation systems.

Björn Schröder, product manager for radar and ECDIS said:
“Radar NX was developed in accordance with human-centered design principles. The user interface concept perfectly matches our new ECDIS NX, which has been presented last year and which earned user feedback of an unparalleled intuitiveness in use.”

The optimized grouping of data and current settings provides operators with clear situation awareness. In addition, the quick access bar makes the most often used operations and functions available at a fingertip. Operators benefit from a superior non-distracted overview, situation awareness and a fast interpretation of the radar picture.

Radar NX delivers customers optimized performance in tracking and anti-clutter processing. It can also include an advanced, smart radar video merging function, which integrates the video of multiple radar transceivers into a single, unobstructed radar video.

The software is scalable to include additional functionality beyond basic IMO standards to support special customer requirements such as helicopter tracking and guidance.

Raytheon Anschütz builds the new Radar NX application on the technical foundation provided by the Synapsis Integrated Navigation System (INS). This means the highly integrated INS functions, such as radar/AIS target management, alert management or sensor integrity monitoring, are also available for a stand-alone radar system.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards
